TAHLEQUAH, Ok -- Funeral services for Robert Mitchell White , (Seq. Class of 1980), will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the El Reno Indian Fellowship United Methodist Church in El Reno, OK.
Robert will have visitation in Tahlequah on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 8:00 AM until noon. The family will host his wake at the Indian Methodist Church on Thursday, August 19th, 2010 beginning at 7:00 PM.
Brother Jim White, Brother Mark White, and Sister Donna Pewo will officiate. Interment will follow at the Concho Cemetery near El Reno, OK. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reed~Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Robert "Shrek" Mitchell White was born on November 17th, 1961 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of George White (Seq. 8th grd '47 til early 1950s) and Margaret Weavel White (Seq. Cls '52 ).
After graduating from Sequoyah High School , Robert attended school to learn plumbing and worked in the construction business. In 1990, he married the love of his life, Kerri (Williams) White in El Reno, OK. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Christopher and Robert.
When he wasn't working, Robert loved to be outdoors and do a little fishing. He loved sports, especially football and was an avid OU and Miami Dolphins fan. He loved music and spent hours listening to oldies and rock n roll. The best days were the days spent in the company of his children and grandchildren.
Robert was a Christian and a Baptist by faith. On Tuesday, August 17, 2010, the Lord called Robert to his eternal rest in Tahlequah, OK. He was 48 years old. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those preceding Robert in death include his mother and father, his wife, Kerri, in 2008, and numerous loved ones and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Christopher William White of Tahlequah and Robert and Shawna Barnett White Jr. of Tahlequah. Robert's brothers and sisters include, James (Jimmie ?) White (Seq. Sr. '76), Mark White, George White, Roena White Preciado (Seq. Cls '73) , Debra (White?) Tallbear (Seq. Sr.'74) , Fanetta White Rice (Seq Cls '78), and Roberta White. Robert's legacy lives on in his two grandsons, Caiden Williams and Iziah White, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
