March 29, 2004 ~ Sarah
didn't graduate from Sequoyah. She left after her Freshman (1969) year,
I think it was; so her picture wouldn't be in the annual book for that
class.
I knew Sarah for a long time. Not only did
she attend Sequoyah, but she also attended Seneca Indian School where I
met her. Several of her family members also attended Sequoyah. Her brother
Thomas
Vann was a sophomore in 1969, brother Jimmy
Ray Vann was a junior in 1968. Sister Barbara
Vann and another brother Steve Vann
also attended Sequoyah, but I'm not really sure of the years.
Sarah was diabetic and on disability
for complications related to her diabetes. She was recently placed in a
nursing home due to injuries that she suffered in a fall at home.
Sarah was a friend of mine and I only
wished that I had known she was having problems. This is such a sad way
for a person to die. I do know that she had been saved and was living a
Christian life. I doubt whether there will be an obituary in the Tahlequah
paper. |
