Funeral services for O.J. Turtle , 59, were held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church in Oaks, OK with Don Marshal officiating. Active Pallbeares Were Adam Turtle, Phillip Turtle, John Turtle, Wayne Turtle, Mark Loco, Eddie Loco, Brian Proctor, and Jesse Reed, honorary Pallbearers were Jordan Dry, Paul Reed, Doug Reed, Shea Tucker, and Bryan Tucker.
OJ Turtle passed away from this life on May 16, 2011. He was born on July 11, 1951 in Drumright, OK., to William and Della Mae (Kelley) Turtle. OJ loved hunting and fishing but his favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, friends and mainly his grandchildren.
OJ is preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter Robin Page, and one brother Lester Turtle.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Lucinda of the home, a daughter Kimberly Dry and her husband Virgil of Oaks, OK., two sons Jason Turtle and his wife Jennifer of Colcord, OK and Mark Loco and his wife Melissa of Oaks, OK., and a sister Phyllis Turtle (Seq. Cls‘74) of Chewey, Ok., four brothers: Paul Turtle and wife Nancy of Proctor, OK., Bill Turtle (Seq. Cls‘73) and Dean Turtle of Chewey, OK., T. J. Turtle (Seq. Jr ‘76) and wife Renee of Chewey, OK., and Grandchildren Aleigha, Jordan, Shelbie, Robin, and Eddie, and a close friend Elvis Orr who he often called "DAD", and a host of family and friends.
