Dorothy Jo "Jody" Thompson  McCrary

 
Jody at the 2004 Seq. Alumni Reunion Funeral services for Dorothy Thompson McCrary, 59, of Tahlequah will be 2:00 Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at the First Christian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Nancy C. Pittman. Serving as pall bearers will be Joe Long, Dell Hall, Mark Hildreth, David Coles, Keith Davis, and Rex Jordan. Honorary pall bearers will be Dusty Coles, Chris Barnhart, and Glen Brown. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral home.

     She was born in Okmulgee, OK, the daughter of Tommy (Sequoyah Boys Advisor-1950s) and Dorothy Jean (Fudge) Thompson on Aug. 1, 1946, and passed from this life on June 4, 2005, at Tahlequah. Jody attended Tahlequah schools and was a graduate of Tahlequah High before attending N.S.U. She and Knotchie McCrary Jr. were wed on Nov. 11, 1971, in Tahlequah. Dorothy had worked as Personal Specialist for I.H.S. before retiring in 1991. She enjoyed raising and taking care of her family.

     Dorothy has been predeceased by her parents, a sister Jean Baker, and an infant daughter Suzannah McCrary. She is survived by her husband of 33 and a half years, two sons Knotchie McCrary III and his wife Monica of Tahlequah, and Matthew McCrary of the home; four grandchildren Emily, Ashley, Chad and Trent; a brother Jim Thompson and his wife Zerita of Muskogee; her caretaker and close friend Judy Sowles; several nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
