Sandra Masters 2001HENRYETTA - Van TARYOLLE  was born October 4, 1915, in Okfuskee County. He died before April 23, 2000 (no death date was given). Funeral services were held April 23 at Shurden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne TARYOLE, Thompson “Tom” GOUGE  (Cls'57), and Judson DEERE officiating. Pallbearers were Shawn Taryole, Matthew Roberts, Jerome Roberts, James Tiger, Hully Tiger and Clarence Tiger, Jr. Interment was at Taryole Family Cemetery near Nuyaka.

     He attended Euchee Boarding School and Sequoyah Indian School. He played baseball and traveled with the Okemah American Legion team. He also won many archery trophies as a marksman over the span of his life. He was a retired ground crewman from Line Service Company of Tulsa.

     He was the son of Prince and Marfy Mikey TARYOLE and was married to Sophia COON Taryola for 65 years. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Sally TIGER of Sapulpa; two sons, Sonny TARYOLE of Henryetta and Ken TARYOLE of Okmulgee; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
