Peggy  Tah

  Claremore, Okla. ~   Peggy Lorraine Tah Downing , was born in Lawton on June 18, 1954, to Raymond D. Tah and Marcella Ann Poolarv Tah, and grew up in Claremore. On Sept. 12, 1988, she married Eric Donald Downing. They had three children. Peggy was a medical transcriptionist and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her sister, Claudia, and granddaughters. She graduated from Sequoyah Indian School   (Class of 1972)  in Tahlequah, and Tulsa Junior College.

Lorriane passed away on March 25, 2008. She was 53.

    Services for Peggy will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 828 S. Muskogee, Claremore. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marcella Tah.

    She is survived by her husband Eric of Sand Springs; daughters: Tiffany Downing of Tulsa; sons: Robbie Smith and Latoya of Tulsa, Eric Downing of Sand Springs, Joy Iverson and Jan Iverson of England, United Kingdom; granddaughters: Robbi, Kelcie, and Jennifer Smith of Tulsa; sisters: Claudia Hemphill and her husband, Bob of Claremore; Jamel Steele and her husband, J.L. Grimes, of Tulsa; Amanda McCombs of Claremore; Hedy Jenkins and her husband, Daryl, of Claremore; brothers Raymond D. Tah, Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Claremore; Dudney Tah of Tulsa; Douglas Tah and his wife, Natalie of Claremore; sister-in-laws: Iris Alama of Tulsa; Ceclia Barnett of Tulsa; Shelia Brown of Tulsa; brother-in-laws Damon Downing of Sand Springs; John Downing of Tulsa; and Hush Downing of Tulsa; parents-in-law James and Bobbie Downing; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She will be missed by all.

    Pallbearers will be her nephews: David Jenkins, J.R. Lockler, Robert Hemphill, Jeffery Steele, James Grimes, Dustin McCombs, and Landon Tah.
