PRYOR, Ok -- Funeral services for Cleophas “Cle” Lee Simon , (Seq. Class of 1965), 66 of Claremore, will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Key Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor, Okla. Burial will follow at Chouteau West Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Ft. Sill Funeral Honors Team. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Cleophas Lee Simon was born on October 6, 1947 in Claremore, Okla. to Carrie Louise (Ketcher) Wickliffe. He passed away on Sunday October 13, 2013 in Claremore at the age of 66. Cle grew up and attended school as a child in Kenwood then later at Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah where he graduated with the Class of 1965. After high school he went to Chicago where he attended technical school and received a certificate in refrigeration. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam war and served for 2 years. He was honorably discharged in 1973.
He was married to Mary Ann Souljah in 1971 and from their union came four children. Cle worked at Heston Corp. in Claremore for 15 years then went to work at Centrilift in Claremore where he worked 25 years; he retired in 2009.
In his spare time, he loved to ride Harley’s and enjoyed rebuilding old cars. He also loved his family very much and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by them all.
He is survived by three children: Mary Louise Morris of Claremore, Cleophas Lee Simon II and wife Ashley of Texarkana, TX and Jonathan David Simon and wife Amy of Inola; four grandkids: Colin, Rylan, Kinley and Elliott; five brothers: Mitchell Ketcher (Seq. Cls'69) and wife Charlene of Salina, Charles Ketcher and wife Helen of Kansas,OK. Rick Ketcher of Kenwood, Nick Ketcher and wife Dollie of Seligman, MO and Thomas Ketcher of Kenwood; three sisters: Loetta Ketcher Bark (Seq. Soph '73) and husband Jim of Salina, Betty Ann Smoke and husband Charles of Kenwood and Rosa Ketcher of Pryor; two uncles George and Lloyd Wickliffe and a many nieces, nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Ann Wickliffe and Charlie and Louise Ketcher, one daughter Andrea Cardwell and a special grandmother Rosa Wickliffe.
