TULSA, Ok -- Victoria Sina “Vicki” Sam-Bush , 46-year-old resident of Marble City, died on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Kindred Hospital in Tulsa. She was born on Oct. 9, 1966, in Claremore to Dwayne and Condelia Nan (Thomas) Sam.
A graveside service was held Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Thomas Family Cemetery located south of White Oak on 4340 Road, with Eric Wensman officiating.
Vicki, attended Seneca Indian School and graduated from Sequoyah High School with the Class of 1984. She married Benny I. Bush (Seq. Cls '83) on July 10, 1985, at the Craig County Courthouse in Vinita, Ok. Vicki was a member of the Native American Church, was a tribal member of The Shawnee/Delaware and Mississippi Band of Choctaws.
The family includes her husband, Benny of the home; children: Ben "Cody" Bush (Seq. Class of 2006) of Tulsa, Dustin Wayne Bush (Seq. Class of 2012) and Samuel Austin Bush, both of Marble City; siblings: Sherri "Bo" Sam of Tulsa, Leon Slinker of White Oak, Lucy Livers and Robert Slinker, both of Stilwell, Dorena Slinker Terrapin (Seq. Class of 2004) of Tahlequah and Job Thomas of Miami; granddaughters and grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
