Helen Pauline (Sam) Snell Welsh

Helen Pauline (Sam) Snell Welsh, 71, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a former longtime resident of Bentley and Atoka, passed away March 21, 2003 at Wichita, Kansas.
       A daughter of Abel and Gladys (McGinty) Sam, she was born at Bentley on July 3, 1931. A mother and homemaker, she was a longtime member of the Bentley Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and a member of the Choctaw Nation.
       She married Doyle Snell on July 5, 1950 at Toledo, Oregon. He preceded her in death on December 9, 1988. She later married Jim Welsh on November 9, 1995.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Gladys McGinty Sam.

         Survivors include her husband, Jim Welsh (Seq.'47) of Tulsa; three daughters, Billie Eaves and husband, Ronny, of Bentley, Janet Wyatt and husband, Bernie, of Okemah, Oklahoma and Karen Eaves of Tushka, Oklahoma.

       12 grandchildren, Brian Eaves of Lansing, Michigan, Krista Myers and husband, Eric, of Seminole, Oklahoma, Clint Eaves and Beth Eaves, both of Tushka, Lisa Ridgeway and husband, Jimmy, of Harmony, Oklahoma, Nathan Wyatt, Gabe Wyatt and Rinnah Wyatt, all of Okemah, and Ryan Eaves and wife, Erin, and Emily, Caleb and Joshua Eaves, all of Bentley.

        Great-grandchildren, Stacey Myers and Jacob Myers, both of Seminole, Zack Kennedy and Hannah Ridgeway, both of Harmony, Jordan Wyatt of Okemah, and Jackson Eaves of Tushka; a sister, Hazel Carroll and husband, Charles, of Bentley; three nieces, Joann Duckworth and family and Paula Deaton and family, all of Atoka, Oklahoma, and Linda Boehme and family of Caddo, Oklahoma; a nephew, Chuck Carroll and family of Atoka, along with a host of other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
