Lou worked as the Lead Residential Advisor at Sequoyah High School from 1985 until his retirement in 2009. During his 24 years of service, Lou made each and every student feel like they were important and someone was looking out for them.

He had a kind smile and a reassuring way about him. He naturally made people feel at ease. He was proud of his Cherokee heritage and worked to pass this pride onto the many lives he touched. He loved music and played the bass with the “Eldon Valley Boys” every chance he got.

Lou was very close to his family and his many nieces and nephews. Every chance he got to spend with them, be it a holiday dinner or a summer picnic was a good day for Lou. Lou’s health began to fail and he passed from this life on May 23rd, 2015 in Tahlequah, OK with his loved ones by his side. Lou was 68 years old. He will be greatly missed by his many family and friends for his love and friendship.
