Della A. Roach

     Della A. Roach  ,93, was born at Row, Oklahoma September 21, 1917 to Albert and Mattie Hendren. She had four brothers, Clarence Hendren, Joe Hendren, Lon Hendren, Bill Hendren, and four sisters Vala Hendren, Susie Cockrell, Alta Hollenbeck, and Stasha Hensley, all of whom preceded her in death. 

She grew up and went to school in Colcord, Oklahoma where she played on the girls’ basketball team. She was also salutatorian of her 1935 graduating class. She met and married  Woody Roach  (Seq.Emp.1950s-1966)  November 28, 1936 who preceded her in death in 1984. She lived most of her life on the farm and was well known for her cooking, canning and gardening skills. She loved working in her garden, flower beds and assisting with the cattle raised on the farm as well as working in her pecan orchard. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the wild birds feeding outside her kitchen window. To her great credit, she encouraged her children and grandchildren in their educational pursuits. During World War II, she stayed home with her three oldest children while her husband served overseas in the army. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Mary L. Roach, son-in-law Todd Wofford and granddaughter Jennifer Roach.

Surviving her are her five children, son, Kenneth Roach and wife Linda of Reeds, Missouri and their children Eric Roach, Keith Roach, Brenna Hall and Whitney Franklin; her daughter, Shirley Wofford and her children Diane Mohnkern, Denise Boyer, and Todd E. Wofford; son, Ed Roach and wife Trisha of Vassar, Michigan, and their children, Dirk, Lori, and Brenda; son, Paul Roach of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and his children Valerie Roach, Mike Roach, Travis Roach and Audra Roach; daughter, Pat Hendrickson and husband Henry of Prague, Oklahoma and their children Amber Hendrickson and Anne Hendrickson; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was beloved by all her family and many friends who will miss her guidance and kind caring ways.
