The most wonderful part of Mary's life was her children and grandchildren. Whenever she was at home, Mary was a gifted seamstress, from clothing to quilts to formal attire for her girls and nieces. Every new member of the family was presented with a baby quilt made especially for them. Everyone loved to be at Mary's house when she went to the kitchen and made her biscuits and her homemade chicken and dumplings. There was a special day in Mary's week, and that was Saturday Wal-Mart Shopping Day. She enjoyed being out with her family and any chance to share in their day.
She was spunky, outspoken, played the piano and loved people. She was fiercely proud of her heritage and did beautiful bead work. A Christian by faith, Mary was a member of the Long Prairie Baptist Church. She read her Bible daily, wearing out several copies in her lifetime.
Her health began to decline and The Lord called His good and faithful servant to her eternal home, September 10th, 2014, at her daughter's home in Kansas, OK. Mary was 76 years old. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends and neighbors.
