SUPULPA, Ok -- Brenda Nelson Coachman , 63, of Jenks passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her home. She was born on October 3, 1949 in Talihina, OK. to Daubie and Lydia (King) Nelson.
She worked at the Indian Health Services. She was raised in Eufaula, OK. She was a Baptist by faith. She attended Sequoyah High School for 3 years graduating with the Class of 1967 , then went to college at Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS. where she obtained her Bachelorís Degree.
She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, watching scary movies, traveling and going out to eat.
She is survived by her children, Camille Herrod of Claremore, OK., Charles Coachman of McKenna, WA., Joe Don Coachman of Jenks, OK. and Christina Coachman of Jenks, OK.; grandchildren, Shelby Herrod, Jonathan Herrod, Jr., Cochise Herrod, Daniel Herrod, Summer Herrod, Hannah and Emily Coachman and Tyler Alexioff; and sister, Florence July of Glenpool, OK.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillip Coachman , (Seq. Class of 1968) ; and parents, Daubie and Lydia Nelson.
Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Solid Rock Baptist Church, Glenpool, OK. Officiating will be the Reverend Walt Sinclair. Interment to follow at Wiley Watson Cemetery, Dustin, OK.
