TAHLEQUAH, Ok --  Geraldine Murphy , (Seq. Class of 1975),  was born on April 4th, 1956 in Tahlequah, Okla. the daughter of Jim and Ada Geneva (Glory) Murphy. Her mother later married Don Bolin  ( Cls '65) , and he raised Geraldine as his daughter.

Geraldine graduated from Sequoyah High School with the Class of 1975.

Geraldine worked as a Sanitation Technician for the Cherokee Casino in Tahlequah. When she wasn't working, Geraldine was a very busy lady. She was an accomplished seamstress. When it came to cooking, Geraldine exceeded and made the most wonderful biscuits and family dinners for her family and friends to enjoy. She then took the time to pass this knowledge onto her nieces.

Geraldine volunteered her time at the Cookson Senior Citizens Cener looking after the youngest members of the community. From making bedding to watching after the children, they had a true friend in Miss Geraldine. She always went the extra mile to decorate for the holidays and make the special days more enjoyable.

She was quiet and thoughtful and loved people! If you asked her opinion on any subject, you could be assured she would tell you her honest take on the situation. She kept chickens and took great joy in gathering the daily eggs. Her house was cleaned on a daily basis and kept as neat as a pin. Her great joy in life was raising her nieces in the family traditions and teaching them her skills in cooking and sewing.

January 4th, 2013 was the biggest celebration of her life, Geraldine accepted Christ as her personal Savior. The Lord took Geraldine to her heavenly home on January 6th, 2013 in Tulsa, Okla. with her loved ones by her side. She was 56 years old. Geraldine will be greatly missed by her family and friends for all the love she gave and all the kindness she showed to others.
