She married Jack Nelson Kingfisher in March of 1970. At her death Jack and Betty were married 47 years.

In her lifetime she was a nurse, teacher, EMS personnel, drug and alcohol abuse counselor, Sequoyah High Dormitory Administrator, as well as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, niece, and friend, She was a member of New Mission Baptist Church in her early life and moved her membership to Johnson Prairie Baptist where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Food Committee member, WMU member, and a host of other obligations that she was happy to serve as she was serving her Lord.

She loved to sing and at every opportunity, whether church, singing, or just relaxing, she was singing. God gave her a voice and she was happy to use it to praise his name.

She was a Christian and was not ashamed to let people know. She was kind-hearted and loving to each and everyone she met.
