Jerry Dean Jumper was born on November 11th, 1956 in Tahlequah, OK the son of Willie and Minnie (Handle) Jumper Sr. He graduated from school in Tahlequah, OK and was active in the National Guard for two years. He married the love of his life, Betty Mae Gourd on June 4th, 1999 in Miami, OK. Together they raised one son and one daughter.

He worked as the Greens Keeper at Cherokee Trails Golf Course. When he wasn't working, Jerry enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and singing the old Gospel songs. He adored his family dearly and treasured every moment he spent in their company.

Jerry was a man of God and a deacon in the Olive Baptist Church. He also served as Pastor at Olive Baptist Church as well, and he served the people of the church and anyone who knocked on his door for prayer and help. Jerry devoted long hours to improving the lives of others and was a true prayer warrior. He didn't simply preach the word of God, he lived by example. He had a sweet smile, a kind and giving heart, and the will to serve his Savior by serving those in his community.

Jerry's health began to fail him and the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on June 4th, 2014 in Tahlequah with his loved ones gathered close by his side. Jerry was 57 years old. His gentle manner, his warm sense of humor and his dedication to family and friends will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
