Ernestine  Wynona  Impson  Dry
Sequoyah  High School ~ Student 1960s

     CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ok -- Funeral services for  Ernestine “Wynona” Impson Dry  (Seq. Class of 1969) , 58, of Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at the Big Lick Methodist Church in Antlers, Okla. Officiating will be Rev. David Wilson.

      Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Finch, Anissa Finch, Tanner Finch, Nicollette Littlecook, Tessa Littlecook, Isabella Impson, Logan Impson, Anthony Whitebird, Makiah Kawaykla, Gabrielle Toppah, Keigan Stephenson and Jacob Stephenson. Interment will follow at the Nasohba Indian Community Cemetery under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home.

      Ernestine Dry was born Sept. 18, 1950, in Talahina, Okla., to Dick Impson and Marilyn (Loman) Impson. She was taken home to the Lord on Oct. 2, 2008. Ernestine had resided in the Park Hill community.

      She attended and graduated from  Sequoyah High School  in 1969 and was a dedicated Sequoyah Indian Fan. She graduated from Bacone College in 1986 and Northeastern State University in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

      She was a member of the United Indian Methodist Church-D.D. Eitchison, in Tahlequah. Ernestine was employed as a Dorm Matron at Sequoyah High School at the time of her passing.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick Impson and Marilyn Little; her sister, Sherry Jones; an aunt, Burnett Turner; and her uncle, Preston Impson.

     She is survived by her husband Elvis, of the home; her sons, David Finch and wife Tanya; their children Tristan, Anissa and Tanner of Woodall, Elton Littlecook and wife Tina; their children Nicollette and Tessa of Tahlequah and Jason Littlecook and wife Jennifer of Peavine; her sisters, Phyllis Impson and Pam Impson, as well as a host of friends and loved ones who will greatly miss her.
