Bernice Bessie Franklin Anderson
SAND SPRINGS -- Bernice Bessie Anderson , mother of Sandra Kay Thompson of Ponca City, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, in Tulsa. She was 72.
A wake service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Morning Star Fellowship in Sapulpa. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Morning Star Fellowship with the Revs. Al Pulver, Lance Crawford and Junior Crowels officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Memorial Park in Sand Springs under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs.Bernice Bessie Anderson was born March 29, 1931, in Haskell, the daughter of Kilbert and Susan Johnson Franklin. She attended Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah. She married Robert Anderson in April of 1996 in Ballenger.
She retired as a nurses aid at the Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa.
She was a member of the Siloam Springs Methodist Church in Haskell County and a member of the VFW Women Auxiliary in Sand Springs. She enjoyed being with her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Tommy Thompson and Prue Thompson, both of Bristow; five daughters, Levetta Faye Sago of Glenpool, Loretta Perigo of Tulsa, Janie Rice of Tulsa, Elsie Lena of Sapulpa and Sandra Kay Thompson of Ponca City; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jeremiah Thompson; her second husband, James Leroy Brown; her parents; a son, Jeremiah Thompson Jr.; two brothers; one stepbrother; and one stepsister.
