Donald Fixin

Donald Fixin - Seq.Jr. 1967     TAHLEQUAH, OK  -- Donald Fixin, son of Jess and Elsie (Hogner) Fixin, was born on June 17, 1952 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed from this life to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Stilwell at 67 years of age.

    He was a Deacon, Song Leader and Faithful Servant of Mulberry Tree Baptist Church.  He loved singing, serving the Lord and going to Gospel singings.

Don attended Stilwell Public Schools and Sequoyah High School (Seq. Jr. in 1967).

    Don and Paula met as teenagers and married on August 30th, 1983.  They were blessed with 47 years together.

    Don had a trash route.  He loved visiting and getting to know his customers.  He would pray for anyone and help the ones in need along the way.

    He played guitar and would teach anyone willing to learn.  Don enjoyed yard work and getting together with his family.  He was always teasing and joking around.  Don would take every opportunity to share Jesus with anyone and everyone. He enjoyed watching Thunder basketball, OU football and watching his grandkids play sports.

You would never catch him without a smile.

He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: Jess and Elsie Fixin, son: Jeremy Don Fixin, brothers: Perry Fixin, Ronald Fixin (Seq.Soph in 1968), William Hogner, sisters: Margaret Adair, Rosie Flynn, Juanita Leach and Joanna Fixin Foreman (Seq.Sr.1968).

    A loving family survives him, they include his wife: Paula Fixin of the home near Tahlequah, children: Jess Fixin and wife Tawanna of Kansas, OK, Dakota Fixin of Tahlequah, daughter-in-law: Paula Fixin of Stilwell grandchildren: Shyla Dooley and husband Nathan of Stilwell, Jeremiah Fixin and wife Amber of Moody, Hunter Fixin and Tessa Fixin of Kansas, Wendi and Deadra Fixin of Stilwell, Jesse Whitley of Stilwell, great grandchildren: Jordan and Haven Dooley of Stilwell, Satchel Fixin of Moody and one on the way.  Many other relatives and friends also survive him.

    Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Mulberry Tree Baptist Church, Stilwell, with Pastor Robert Fourkiller and Reverend Gil Hooper (Seq. Sr. 1969)  officiating.  Interment followed at Mulberry Tree Cemetery, Stilwell under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
Two killed in three-vehicle crash on 51

    Two men were killed and one other was injured in a three-vehicle collision Thursday morning, Oct. 24, 2019.

    According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, the crash happened Thursday morning on State Highway 51, east of Stilwell.

    Donald Fixin (Seq.Jr 1968) , 67, of Tahlequah, was driving a 1995 Ford F-150 southbound on 4720 Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Derrick Miller, 32, of Stilwell, was driving a 2015 Ford F-250 westbound on S.H. 51 when he struck Fixin’s truck.

    Miller entered the eastbound lane and was struck by the vehicle of Jack Zimmerman, 61, of Chandler, Arizona. Fixin and Miller were pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was transported to Stilwell Memorial hospital by Pafford EMS with head and trunk internal injuries.

    According to the report, Fixin and Miller were not wearing seatbelts. Weather conditions at the time were rainy and the roadways were wet.
