     TAHLEQUAH, Ok. -- Funeral services for  Charley L. Dreadfulwater  (Seq. student 1950s), 56, of Tahlequah will be held Friday, April 2- at 1 p.m. in the Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Sampson Leach and Richard Large officiating. Burial will follow at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Viewing will be all day today. The casket will be closed for services.

He was born Jan. 14, 1934 in Tahlequah to Andrew and Rebecca Manus Dreadfulwater and died Wednesday, April 28, 1990 in Tahlequah. A graduate [Not Listed] of Sequoyah High School , he joined the United States Marines in 1953 and received an honorable discharge in 1962.

After his retirement, Dreadfulwater began working as a Cherokee Nation Community Health representative, later becoming supervisor. He was a graduate from Oklahoma State University Technical School in Okmulgee with honors.

Dreadfulwater was an Emergency Medical Technician and a cosmetologist. He was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church. His health forced his retirement in 1984.

Survivors include three daughters: Lou Ella Coon of Park Hill, Tina Dreadfulwater of Gilbert, Ariz. And Sheila Dreadfulwater of Kooskia, Idaho; three sons: Charley and John Dreadfulwater, both of Grangeville, Idaho and Bradley Dreadfulwater of Tahlequah; five brothers: J.B. Dreadfulwater (Seq.Emp 1971-81) of Tahlequah, Andrew Dreadfulwater of Nevada, Phillip Dreadfulwater (Seq.-Fresh '69) of Wichita Falls, Texas and Albert Dreadfulwater (Seq. Cls'68) and George Dreadfulwater, both of Tulsa; six sisters: Rosalee Dreadfulwater Scott (Seq. Soph'59) of Stilwell, Charlotte Dreadfulwater Porcaro (Seq. Cls'69) of North Carolina and Josephine Drywater, Becky Roberts, Edna Ann Dreadfulwater and Angie Dreadfulwater, all of Tahlequah.
