Iris  Louise  Deerinwater  Leep
Sequoyah  Vocational  School ~  2nd grade '47 ~ Soph 1955

Tahlequah - Iriis Louise Deerinwater Leep (Seq. Soph 1955), 69, born at Claremore, Okla.  Iris was the daughter of Samuel and Myrtle M. (Keener) Deerinwater.  She grew up in Cherokee County.

She passed from this life on Monday June 25, 2007 from her residence in Tahlequah. Services were Thursday in the Swimmer Baptist Church, Hulbert, Okla.

Iris was a nurse's aide, who attended both Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte and Sequoyah Vocational Training School  in Tahlequah, Okla.

[Editors Note:  I have a listing for her in the second grade in 1947 (would have been Cls. '57). .  .  Louise was indeed in our class (1957) but left after her Sophomore year.]

Preceding her are her parents; and sisters and brothers Molly and John Deerinwater, and Leon and Jimmy Dirteater.

Surviving her are her husband Joe of the home; her children Debra Walker of Tahlequah, Raymond Walker of Wilmington, N.C., Paul Walker of Shady Grove, Daniel Deerinwater and wife Sibrena of Fort Gibson, and Sherry Jennings and her husband Dewayne of Cushing; grandchildren Derald Jr. and Thomas Rowland, Ryan Rhanda, and Rhett Walker, Jordan and Amayah Walker, Peyton Deerinwater, James Blankenship, Wade Bailey, Alli and Jett Jennings; brother and sisters Cleo (Seq. 1950s) , Leo (Seq. 1950s), Levi, William (Chuck)  (Seq. Jr.'58)  and Byrd Deerinwater, and Nora Lowrey; as well as many other relatives, friends, and loved ones too numerous to mention.
