BROKEN ARROW, Ok -- Betty Jo Craig Keller , (Seq. Class of 1949), 82, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at her home in Broken Arrow, Okla. Betty Jo Keller was born May 17, 1931, in Tahlequah, Okla., daughter of Peggy (Spade) Craig and Ben Craig.
Funeral Services for Betty Jo Keller will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow. Burial will be at Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, Okla., under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
The former Miss Betty Craig attended Sequoyah Vocational School, Class of 1949, in Tahlequah, Okla. She married Donald O. Keller, Sr on Sept. 7, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb.18, 2010.
Betty was a homemaker and worked as a nurse’s assistant at St. Francis Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed baking pies, quilting, sewing, reading and watching football. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan. Betty was an excellent cook. She loved holidays and cooking for family and friends. Betty was baptized at Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her daughters Debra and husband Joe Vandiver of Broken Arrow, Sandra and husband Philip Quaile of Broken Arrow, Susan and husband Tom Nattrass of Broken Arrow, Carol and husband Randy Brazee, Merkel, Texas, Sheri and husband Kirby Bedford, Tulsa, Patricia and husband James Cumm, Atlanta, Ga.; 21 Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren; a brother, James and wife Jessie Craig, Tahlequah, Okla.; sisters Wannie and husband Edward “Junior” Ingram, Tahlequah, Okla., Dorothy Barbaree, Broken Arrow and Henrietta Brannon, Cleveland, Okla.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Donald O. Keller Jr. and Jason K. Keller and granddaughter Amanda Carol Vernon.
