TAHLEQUAH -- Services for  Sarah C. Comer  will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Garland Thomas and Brother Frank Haven officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City, with Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Casket bearers include Richard Robins, Arlie Manship, Mark Manship, Joe Weaver, Robert Sevier and Mike Matthews.

Graveside casket bearers will be Cecil Stone, Jimmy Stone, Lum Roberts, Matt Porter, Kenny Comer and Gary Capps. Funeral services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Sarah C. Comer born Feb. 5, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., to John J. Castles and Lina B. (McCoy) Castles, and she passed from this life May 18, 2005, in Meeker, at the age of 87. She moved to War Acres from Omaha as an infant, and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1935.

Sarah and Kenneth Comer were married June 8, 1940. Sheplayed piano at Woodall Methodist Church in Tahlequah for 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Comer; parents, John and Lina Castles; and two sisters, Amy Castles and Mary Stone.

Sarah is survived by her daughter, Oneta Capps and husband Jim of Shawnee; her son, John Comer of Tahlequah; grandchildren, Gary Capps of Flower Mound, Texas, Tammy Morris of Juno, Alaska, Kenneth Joel Comer of Norman, Camille Westbrook of San Deigo, Calif., Dawn Gauf of Arizona, Michelle Rowe of Oklahoma City, and Stephanie Miller of Oklahoma City; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Louise Thomas of Peggs; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
