Sammy Chupco

Sammy Chupco     OKMULGEE, OK --  Samuel Don Chupco , passed away on November 20, 2017 in Glenpool, Oklahoma at the age of 70. Sammy was born on Thursday, September 25, 1947 in Oklahoma City to the late Samuel Barney Chupco and Ruby Willadean (Dodson) Chupco.

    Sammy graduated from Sequoyah High School with the Class of 1966 and went onto Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas and then later attended SMU school of Theology. He married Joann (Peters) on October 30, 1969 in Tulsa.

    Sammy enjoyed listening to music, going out to eat, and going for drives. When he was younger he loved playing pool. Sammy was a silk screen printer. Sammy loved most is spending time with his grandkids, taking them places and going fishing.

    He was a pastor for thirty-two years, serving at: Jay Indian Methodist Church, Mutteluke Indian United Methodist Church, Newtown United Methodist Church, and Tallahassee Church.

Preceding Sammy in death are his parents and granddaughter Stacie Dry.

    Left to cherish all of the wonderful memories of Sammy is his wife Joann of the home, daughter Angela Gayle Chupco, son Samuel David Chupco, brother Johnny Chupco (Seq.Jr in 1967) and wife Mona, sister Mary Dowler and husband Charles Enloe, grandkids Kayla Campbell and Becca Campbell, great grandkids Eli Campbell, Isaac Boyd, and Tucker Boyd, with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Funeral Services for Sammy were Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Tallahassee Indian Methodist Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Curtis McKinney officiating. Interment followed at Tallahassee Cemetery. Pallbearers were: David Chupco, George Wesley, Johnny Chupco, Greg Berryhill, Victor Harjo, Rodger Benidict, and Tyler Boyd. Honorary Pallbearers were: Travis Chupco and Keith Jackson.
