Hello Sequoyah Alumni,
I wanted to share some news
and let you know that a 1984 Sequoyah grad has passed away.
Jimmy Ray
Bowman , an Army veteran and Cherokee tribal member, passed
on December 6th, 2002 while living in California.
He is survived by his mother, Annie
Sue Byrd (Sequoyah class of 57), brothers Wendell
and Nathan Bowman (Sequoyah
class of 1985), sister Sherri and his son Eric Bowman (now 18).
He attended Seneca Indian School and
while at Sequoyah participated in football and was an accomplished runner
who went to State competition representing Sequoyah in track in 1984.
He attended his 10
year class reunion in 1994 and we had made plans to attend the 20 year
class reunion in 2004. He was a good man and will be missed by those who
knew him.
Thank you for this forum to pass on the news.
MVTO,
Kenneth Johnson
