                Bighorse     LOCUST GROVE, Ok --  Franklin Edward Bighorse , (Seq. Student 1970s), was born October 28, 1934 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to George and Frances (Davis) Bighorse. He departed this life on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his home at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 15 days.

    As a child, Frank grew up and attended school in the Pawhuska area. At the age of 10, the family moved and Frank attended Sequoyah Vocational School in Tahlequah, 6th grade in 1947 to a Junior in 1952. While in high school, he and Juanita Louise Osage (Seq. Class of 1955) met and fell in love. The couple were united in marriage in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 7, 1959. Louise preceded Frank in death earlier this year on February 3, 2017. They had been married for over 57 years.

    Frank enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on June 16, 1952. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 15, 1961. Frank lived in California for some time. He also lived in Tulsa and Pryor before making Locust Grove his home in 1974.

    Frank worked as a fitter welder for many years. He also worked as custodian for Salina Schools. He was a very devoted Christian and member of Country Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Frank devoted much time and effort for his church where he had served as deacon for some time. He spent many hours reading his bible studying the Word of God.

    Frank had a love for baseball. When he was younger, he had thought about trying out for his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. He worked hard to provide for and take care of his family. He treasured the time he spent with his family and will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

    Frank is survived by: 3 sons: Mark Bighorse and wife Clara of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Randy Bighorse and wife Stacey of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and Terry Bighorse of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren: Amanda, Kyle, Jennifer, Anthony, Broc, Jerah, Brooke, Jerek, and Francie; 13 great grandchildren; 1 brother: Charlie Bighorse (Seq. 1950s) and wife Beverly of Wagoner, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Laura Bighorse Johnson (Seq.Class of 1957) of California; 2 brothers-in-law: Johnny Osage (Seq. Jr 1958) and wife Sue of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Steve Osage of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 2 sisters-in-law: Phyllis Osage Doty (Seq Class of 1956) of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Annabella O'Canas of Pryor, Oklahoma; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

    He was preceded in death by: his parents; 1 son: Edward Bighorse; 2 brothers: George Bighorse and Bob Bighorse; and 3 brothers-in-law: John Doty, Dan O'Canas, and Frankie Osage.

    Wake services will be held 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Locust Grove Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2017 at Country Baptist Church east of Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Keith Marler will officiate. Interment will follow at McClain Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
