April 27, 2006 6:50 PM           To the friends and family of Thomas Batson, Ruby and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Thomas and will remember him as he was the last time we were together: the 2002 Sequoyah Alumni Reunion.

I'll remember Thomas as being the best marble shooter at Sequoyah in the 1950s. A 6ft circle with marbles in the center; kneeling in the dirt, Thomas, with those big hands and steely (ball bearing), would bust the pot, then by ones and twos, he would clear the circle and take all our marbles.

We'll miss him,

Charles and Ruby Cochran
