TAHLEQUAH, Ok -- Services for Dorena Sawney-Adair Alexander , 66, of Ada, are Saturday Dec. 15th at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Allen Beck and Rev. Randy Wade will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at her home. She was born August 2, 1946 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Frank Adair and Sallie Sawney. She graduated from Sequoyah High School in Tahlequah with the Class of 1965. She moved to Ada from Stilwell.
She married Hubert Alexander in October, 1968. Mrs. Alexander was a medical secretary for the Sugg Clinic, Valley View Regional Hospital, Doctor’s Park and Carl Albert Hospital. Later, she was employed with the East Central University Cafeteria. Mrs. Alexander was a member of High Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Alexander, of the home; a son, Brian Alexander, Ada; four daughters, Denise Durant, Ada, Carol Lynn Alexander, Elisa Alexander and Ann Marie Alexander, all of Ada; ten grandchildren, Kenna Fields, Michelle Fields, Thomas Alexander, Sarah Alexander, KraSarah Durant, Mika Alexander, Montana Durant, Jeremiah Alexander, Maddison Long and Shayla Farmer; brothers: Jess Hawk (Seq.fresh'66) , Thomas Hawk (Seq Fresh'73) and Edward Sawney of Westville, Oklahoma, Jerry Hawk of Stilwell, Oklahoma and Steve Sawney of Ada; sisters, Janice Sawney of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Lethia Crittenden of Westville, Oklahoma, Willia Mae Hawk Alexander (Seq.Jr '73) , Mary Hawk McDonald (Seq.Cls'77) and (Seq.Cls'80) of Ada.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Adair; mother Sallie Sawney; step-father, Thomas Hawk, Jr.; brother, Richard Hawk and sister, Lucille Still.
Bearers will be David Long, Darl Durant, Greg Walker, Shawn Hurley, Watt Alexander and Chris Baker. Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren.
